Between Paris and Grasse, Aurélien Guichard is the Founding Perfumer of the House. It reveals the unique texture and the most beautiful facets of each raw material, in a contemporary, direct, understandable composition.

Excellence in quality is at the heart of MATIERE PREMIERE’s approach. The best natural ingredients are selected from around the world, favoring ethical and organic sectors.

The perfumes have been composed to offer an unparalleled trail, an emotional imprint that will never fade. Particular attention is paid to each stage of aging, from maturation to maceration, to ensure unique quality.

MATIERE PREMIERE perfumes contain between 85% and 92% natural ingredients. They are vegan, phthalate-free and without any coloring.

CULTIVATION OF FLOWER FIELDS

In 2016, Aurélien Guichard founded an organic farming estate (Ecocert), in his native region of Grasse. Thousands of rose bushes and tuberose bulbs are grown there, following family and regional know-how and on an exceptional terroir, listed as the intangible cultural heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Tuberoses

The tuberose harvest takes place once a year, at the end of summer. Before the start of winter, the earth bulbs are taken to store them, protected from frost. They are replanted in the first fine days of May. From their flower fields, Tuberose Absolute and Enfleurage are produced, which are at the heart of the FRENCH FLOWER perfume.

Roses

Every year, roses are harvested in May, for exactly 30 days. They are picked every morning, and are immediately taken to the neighboring factory to produce Centifolia Rose Absolute, which is at the heart of RADICAL ROSE in extreme dosage.
